Social media for happiness

Ever wondered what glues people to their Facebook profiles? Or to Twitter? Or towards Orkut communities? Not just the designs and features, but something else, says a new report. A hormone!

Oxytoxin (commonly called as ‘cuddle chemical’) is a hormone in the brain which stimulates feelings of trust, security and positive sexual effects. And guess what! Oxytoxin is produced while tweeting and updating status.
Cool eh? It has been proved that most people value their social media contacts as real persons and interaction with them pushes their Oxytoxin levels higher, nearly equal to the amount produced during a wedding party. In a nutshell, social media makes us “feel good”. So why don’t you tweet or share this post and feel good?
