Google is reportedly partnering up with online game maker Zynga who made the famous Mafia wars and Farmville, to launch a hub where users can play online social games. It is called as Google Games, sources said, but Google is yet to make an official announcement.
Leading tech blogs like Mashable and TechCrunch said that the search giant has invested $100m to $200m dollars in the massive gaming company. It is also said that Google is planning to bring Google Games to mobile too. Many people wonder why anyone would abandon the Facebook platform and play games at Google hub. But this also tightens up the rumor that Google is planning to build a social network to compete with Facebook, so that users can play games just like they did with Facebook. For now, we can do nothing but wait, till any official announcements are made from Google or Zynga.
